Exhaust work – opening it up

The stock SL100 pipe is cool looking but mine was pretty dented. Also I am a bit worried about how it will breathe with the bigger displacement options.

I cut the pipe open over the weekend and banged the dents flat on the outer shell. It doesn’t look very smooth here but is actually pretty close.

The interior structure is pretty restrictive. The plan is to create a straight perforated passage with wool on the outside. I cut the old baffles and things out and started creating making the header end collar that the core pipe can be pushed to.
